OKAY, TIME TO GEEK OUT. Those who know me well, know Im positively obsessive about roller coasters, so I apologize in advance: https://facebook/video.php?v=10152893609433566&fref=nf Upon being shown this, I was super interested, since this is very different than other coasters out there. Not only is it a tubular electromagnetic roller coaster (this one is an ElLoco style, which was used more in the 80s-90s, and pioneered in the 70s), it doesnt use a Hydraulic launcher and features a chain lift instead. Kinda rare for now days. They also didnt go for speed, since itll have a max speed of about 65 pmh, even though itll have about 7 inversions. Whats interesting to me is that it seems primarily gravity-influenced, and I thought it was very reminiscent of old designs by Arrow Dynamics (one of the most prominent ride manufacturers and a pioneer in Roller Coaster everything, now defunct). Upon farther research, I find that the ride is designed by Alan Shilke, who worked for Arrow Dynamics for almost three decades as head engineer/ride designer, and is responsible for literally every modern roller coaster there is, such as: Gravity-falling coaster (The now Defunct G-Force), 4th dimension coaster (X/X2), steel-wood hybrids (Texas Giant and Iron Rattler) and Pre-fab wooden coasters (The Matador). Hes also the genius behind Hades 360, which is a rollercoaster built mostly under a parking lot because the park didnt have room for a new coaster. I know most people are rolling their eyes at this, but as an enthusiast, this is really exciting for me! Were taking a leap forward (new tallest rollercoaster), by taking a step back-- for once the focus isnt on speed or height, but enjoyment. Im surprised theyre opting for over-the-lap bars instead of shoulder restraints, but well see. Without Arrow Dynamics, we would not have rollercoasters. To see something that is so influenced by their work is awesome, and I have to ride this now. Madge Watson
