Avoid all kinds of unnecessary talk, as these eight days are very important in our lives and we are at HIS Lotus Feet. We need to maintain the solemnity and sanctity of the place. 6. Please DO NOT BRING ANY VALUABLES. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Everyone should have a Tilak on the forehead. 2. At least once a day, we need to assemble at one place, before going to our assigned duties. 3. At least once a day, we need to recite Sri Vishnu Sahasranamams. 4. Every day (all the Seven days, leaving the first day, as we will be reporting to TTD only by or before 8.30 a.m.), we need to assemble in front of the Temple at least by 5.30 a.m. for Prabhata Bheri (i.e., Reciting Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatam, Sri Vishnu Sahasranamams, Govinda Naamaavali, bhajans, etc.) going around in the four Mada-Veedhis of the Temple (Pradikshana Route). It is around an hour programme every day, till we take leave of the Lord of Seven Hills of His abode on the last day of our Seva. 5. Try to be as simple and loving as possible, in spite of all provocations and problems, because we will be at HIS Lotus Feet to SERVE and anything else is only secondary. 6. Try to be close to the group, so that one can help each other immediately in case of any necessity. I am writing these points out of my own experience from the last Seven visits. These are very useful to make the SEVA invigorating, exhilarating, challenging and successful. To tell you the truth, TTD has taken videos of our SEVA last time and broadcast it in their Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel, sometime ago. And, most of us were given important assignments like Seva in Kalyana Mandapal, Main Temple, Annadaanam, Laddu Counter, etc. So, it is entirely on us, how we behave as DEVOTEES and SEVAKS of the LORD and enjoy every moment of our SERVICE there at Tirumala. 1. We are going there to Serve NOT to demand or command. Only a Servant can Serve, not the owner. In other words, we are going there as SERVANTS of the Lord. So, whatever work has been entrusted to us, we discharge that responsibility with all humility and love. We do not entertain any other thought in our mind. 2. While serving HIM through HIS devotees, keep mentally or otherwise repeating the mantra Om Namo Venkatesaya or Govinda. 3. The accommodation TTD provides to us may not be the best. They are offering us common hall plus toilet facilities with lockers. In such a situation, if you can adjust, please do, or else, kindly make your own arrangements for accommodation. Some of the devotees adjust there and some other, whose health may not permit, book rooms on payment. Choice is entirely yours. 4. As for the food, it is free in Annadaana Mandapam, every day. In those days of work when we will be asked to serve food to HIS devotees, after serving a few batches, we can have our food there itself. One feels blessed to do this seva -- serving food to thousands of pilgrims with our own hands. Let us do it with all smiles, humility, devotion and love. Also please go through the below given weblink of TTD for more particulars on Srivari Seva. tirumala.org/maintemple_voluntary.htm Love and Love alone .... P. Gopi Krishna NOTE: If you are not in a position to participate in the Seva this year, please spread the word among your acquaintances. -- I am sending this mail to whose e-mail ids are with me.
