OMG! It has been a hell of an 11hours! Just about feel we are almost back to normal! At 3.30am we had the most awful storm and the rain decided to pour in at an unbelievable rate, on to the landing through the electric sockets and down the trunking on the wall - the whole of the upstairs was like a swimming pool, but between Jim and I we managed to prevent it running down the stairs with buckets, bins, and every towel that we own, not to mention tea towels, pillows and duvets! It was very stressful but gradually over quite a few hours the water stopped pouring in. It was leaking through the ceiling in to the lounge aswell. It was awful, but nowhere near as bad as the flood victims in the UK, I cant even begin to imagine what it was like for them, but had a tiny idea of what it might have been like last night. Wading your way through cold, smelly rain water in your socks is not very nice at all. Jim was trying to catch as much of the water in a bucket as poss but it was filling up in 30 seconds. Were hoping Jims studio gear is OK as a lot of water seeped in to all of the upstairs rooms. After lots of wiping, mopping, drying towels and wiping again We have just sat down with a sandwich and a cup of tea, it has been a hell of a night and day. We have sent all of our towels except for a few to the laundry, there was just too many for us to wash not to mention dry. The developers have been on the roof and they said one of our drain pipes was blocked and they have sorted it. (Fingers crossed) in amongst all this Jims van had to be towed to the garage as it broke down on Sunday, so lets hope its nothing too serious! What a flipping day people!! - hope youve all had a better day than us!
