OMG, this is so sad. I found this on Yahoo this morning, and I thought I should share it out there. This is what terrorists do: I am the Lead FAA Investigator working this crash, though my final report will not be completed for months I can share that in fact the plane was struck by a missile. It was not a direct hit, it was more of a glancing blow that put a hole in the belly section of the plane that measured approximately 1ft by 1ft. The pilots knew what happened, made a distress call and in fact remained in contact with ground personnel right up to the moment of impact. During the 30 minutes of radio transmission the pilots struggled to gain control of the plane but the fact that it was slowly breaking apart made their efforts impossible. On the tapes of these radio transmissions you can hear the passengers screaming and crying due to the fact that this is the worst type of crash, a passengers worst nightmare actually because it seems to go on forever. The passengers were tossed about like rag dolls, some witnessed the burning image seen on the faces of 14 people as they disappeared through the hole that developed near the rear of the plane. After 30 min. the pilots faced their demise the plane began speeding toward the ground at approximately 600mph, even the blood curling screams of almost 300 passengers could not drowned out the sound of the plane breaking apart. When the plane hit the ground it was not nose first, the passengers were still alive at this point but virtually all of them suffered severed spinal cords and had become paralyzed. The most horrific part of this crash is the fact that though they were in tremendous agony from the crash injuries they actually died from burning to death in the wreckage. I wouldnt wish this kind of crash on anyone and I hope by me releasing some of the facts I have gathered so far that I can help comfort and bring some closure to the families.
