Ainslie Street 60640 About this event: Sahel Calling is an independent documentary film which uses the voice of musicians to raise awareness about the refugees, internally-displaced persons and the people living in the conflict-affected areas of Mali and the Sahel. The Sahel Calling Project works to nurture reconciliation in Mali with guidance from Oxfam, UNHCR and Conscience International. John Bosch directed the film and the project is produced by Kathryn M. Werntz, a development worker based between Dakar, Sénégal and Berlin, Germany. The international film crew includes Americans, British, and Malians from Bwa and Touareg ethnic groups. The project is operated by a 20-person volunteer team located globally across nine countries. For more information visit sahelcalling.
