ON THE “ SO CALLED MERU UNITY!” My Take: .. nothing but a feel good moment...a passing fade..!!Some 50yrs 10 mos. Post- independence… NO unity here! As the saying goes...The proof of the pudding is in the eating Aside from the likely brief unity in a pre-independence Mau Mau effort by our Wameru Warriors-[United by our common enemy the Wakoloni,] Can ANYONE provide an example or 2 or 3 in the following areas: 1. Where MERU-[greater] has demonstrated UNITY, through action, deeds and/or words? 2. Identify a singular (or 2-3) unifying leaders of the Meru community? 3. Where 1 and 2 above evades you, try identifying a “unifying, developmental act, action, word or deed within the greater Meru community that has served to unify/unite and stimulate united focus developmental or psychological community effort …Making Meru’s “Proud to Be Meru”. **[note Kimeru..Ekura ba ntura ni batethanagia gwaka nchuku!...Kimeru, Kalaa na Kiempe kia nainchu…a proud kimeru tradition that cuts across Igembe, Tigania, Imenti, Tharaka borders!)** 4. Such acts, deeds, words etc noted in 3 above, MUST (Should) have or have had a “long lasting effect on the overall positive psyche, soul and consciousness of the greater Meru community! RULES: Actions of said leader(s) must possess the following traits/Characteristics: a. A unifying vision. b. Demonstrated actions of a unifying /visionary nature. c. A unifying ideology. d. A selfless developmental vision that seeks the greatest good for the greatest most. NB. No Deceased leaders (i.e. Mwariama, Baimunge etc) in identification. …UNLESS your intent is to illustrate a point or offer leadership lessons learned! I can assure you that the “Pied Piper mentality, and the efforts of our current Meru leadership will result in [naught], zero, zilch…- a goose egg- for the larger Meru community! Mark and monitor this comment on your calendars! MY PRAYER- That my pessimistic, glass half empty perspective is quickly proved to be wrong! Best on assignment. Over to you friends. Cheers
