Written by Laura Nyro, from her LP New York Tendaberry Matthew Greenwald, allmusic Reaching back once again to her gospel roots, this fabulous highlight from New York Tendaberry has a joyous and wholly engaging atmosphere that is undeniable. Part diary confession and prayer, part lullaby, the songs construction -- in both the lyrics and music -- is quite staggering. A stirring gospel arrangement (including an excellent horn chart, probably written by Nyro herself) makes this song one of the sleepers of her catalog. Its rightfully included on the Sony/Legacy collection of the same title.
