ON THIS DAY IN ARKLATEX WEATHER HISTORY (APR.8TH)..... 1979-F2 tornado hit the northern section of Mineral Springs, AR, damaging 3 homes, a mobile home, and destroying several chicken houses and outbuildings. 2 people were injured in the mobile home. Damage estimated at 400 thousand 1979-F1 tornado hit Blevins, AR, in Hempstead County and damage one home. 1 person in the home was injured. 1979-F0 tornado destroyed a mobile home and heavily damage another one in Bienville Parish, LA. 2 people were injured. 1984-F1 tornado touchdown in Howard County, AR. Most of the damage occurred in the southern sections of the town of Nashville. Roofs were damaged on a half dozen homes, a mobile home dealership was struck, demolishing 7 trailers and damaging others. A car dealerships was struck, damaging about 30 used cars. Adjacent buildings also received damage. 1 injury was reported.
