ON THIS DAY IN BATH CITYS HISTORY: October 2nd Our last game on this day two years ago was a long Tuesday night trip to Truro City, and in what many supporters felt would be the struggling White Tigers last ever match it was the home side who were 2-1 winners. Kurtis Guthrie scored Citys equaliser in the first half before current City star Andy Watkins set up Stuart Yetton for the Cornish sides winner. In 2010 City fans that made the journey to Cambridge Uniteds Abbey Stadium were treated to a special moment in Citys recent history. After Cambridge had taken an early lead in this Conference Premier match Marc Canhams superb free kick levelled the score, and as the game drifted into added time and home fans began to make for the exits Kaid Mohameds magical solo goal (below) gave us our first away win of the season. In 2004 we travelled to Havant & Waterlooville in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the FA Cup and were 2-0 winners thanks to Alex Sykes and John Williams goals, while in 1999 Martin Pauls hat-trick ensured City progressed from the 3rd Qualifying Round at Farnborough Towns expense with a 3-1 win. In 1976 Martyn and Peter Rogers were both on the scoresheet as City won 2-1 at Atherstone Town and in 1971 we played in two matches on the same day, a 2-2 draw in the Southern League at Guildford City and a 1-0 defeat in the Southern League Cup at Stevenage Athletic. 1919 saw our earliest match on record on this day, a 2-1 FA Cup win at Yeovil & Petters United thanks to Jack Hill and Fred Morgans goals. #BathCity125 #OnThisDay
