The law finds marijuana, cocaine and Quaaludes. Henley is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. 1980 Van Morrison In Ireland, a one hour documentary with on-stage and off-stage footage premieres in London. 1980 The David Bowie/Queen song “Under Pressure” tops the UK charts laying the groundwork for Vanilla Ice’s one shot at fame. 1981 Billy Idol’s remake of the ‘60s Tommy James & The Shondells hit Mony Mony is the top song in the U.S. Bruce Springsteen’s Brilliant Disguise reaches #5. 1987 Pink Floyd release their live album “The Delicate Sound of Thunder.” 1988 1990s Mick Jagger marries Jerry Hall in Bali (or does he?). The couple already have a common-law marriage and two children - the result of having been together for ten years. Jagger later claims the ceremony wasn’t legal. The Albuquerque, NM, resident allegedly accessed Benningtons phone records and digital pictures and made a threatening call to the vocalists wife,Talinda. 2006 Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger’s pleads guilty to drunken driving charges in a Surrey, Canada, court. Actually, it’s Kroeger’s lawyer operating on his client’s behalf, since the singer is not present. Kroeger faces the minimum penalty of a $600 fine and a one-year ban on driving. He was arrested in June ‘06. 2007 It’s announced that founding E Street Band member, keyboardist Danny Federici, is undergoing treatment for melanoma and won’t be a part of Bruce Springsteen’s “Magic” tour. Danny is one of the pillars of our sound and has played beside me as a great friend for more than 40 years, writes Springsteen. We all eagerly await his healthy and speedy return. The fundraiser supports the First Tee of Clearwater, which aids underprivileged youths in the area. 2008 System Of A Down singer Serj Tankian announces that he’s donating proceeds from the song Fears to help support Amnesty Internationals Write-A-Thon campaign, which asks people to send messages on behalf of political prisoners worldwide.
