ONE AL-HASSAN DUTSE COMMENTED THIS ON SAHARA REPORTERS PAGE: SANUSI LAMIDO SANUSI,THE MAN AND HIS DESTINY:BY ATABO M ABUBAKAR: In 1967 Rev Father Cletus Johnson the Headmaster of St.Anne Primary School Kakuri Kaduna was going through the Forms filled by his graduating pupils before counter signing.He often take interest in reading the column that requires the pupil to indicate his future ambition.Some of the pupils wrote that they want to be Soldiers,Doctors,Lawyers,Engineers etc.The Rev.got amazed by a particular Form filled by one of the pupils,the pupil wrote that his ambition in life is to become THE EMIR OF KANO! That pupil was Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. Similarly,in 1975 the Literary and Debating Society of King Collage Lagos staged a play on Nigeria and its future the quiet Sanusi Lamido Sanusi played the role of the Emir of Kano where he performed credibly well.The funniest aspect of that drama was that,he refused to adopt the nomencleture of Alh.Ado Bayero as the Emir in the drama and insisted to be called His Royal Highness Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the Emir of Kano.Thus,Sanusis ambition of becoming the Emir of Kano has been his cardinal philosophy and central focus in life.That he achieved and that he became.All hail his Royal Highness the new Emir of Kano. Born on the 31st of July 1961 into the royal family and decendent of Alh.Muhammadu Sanusi the late Emir of Kano and an Islamic scholar,the young Sanusi began his western education in St Anne Catholic school Kakuri Kaduna from 1967-1972.He proceeded to the prestegious Kings College Lagos and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1977.Again,he gained admission into the prestegious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria to study Economics and graduated in 1981,he also had his Masters Degree in 1983 from the same University. Sanusis working career began as a lecturer before venturing into the banking sector where he rose through the ranks and held several positions in the last 30 years.He crowned it all by becoming the Nigerias Central Bank Governor in 2009. The name Sanusi Lamido Sanusi may mean different things to different people,but,one salient fact about the name was its synanymity with Royalty.Even at the peak of his career,Mallam Sanusi never loose his focus and ambition of becoming the Emir of Kano.He neigther shy away from that nor blink eyes about it.He saw his ambition of becoming the Emir of Kano as his destiny,a destiny he eventually fulfilled as a dream come through.I wish to therefore congratulate His Royal Highness Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the Emir of Kano,Mai Hausa,Rumbum Baushe....Allah yaja zamanin Sarki, Sarki Kawuche Mutum, Sarki Zaben Allah, Sarki Ikon Allah, Badai Mutum ba Sai Dai Allah!
