ONE PUNCH: A 21 year old guy is fighting for his life after he was hit in the back of the head in Bondi at 12:40am. Can you help Police? Police Statement: A man is in a critical condition in hospital following an assault at Bondi Beach early this morning. About 12:40am, Sunday 12 October 2014, police and paramedics were called to Campbell Parade, near Roscoe Street, following reports of an assault. It is believed a 21-year-old man was standing on the footpath when he was punched in the back of the head by an unknown man. He fell to the ground where he was kicked before his attacker ran off. The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics for serious head injuries and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he has been placed in an induced coma and remains in a critical condition. A crime scene was established on Campbell Parade and examined by forensic officers. Detectives from Eastern Suburbs Local Area Command are conducting investigations into the assault and are looking for a man who has only been described as being 183cm tall with a solid build and wearing a denim jacket. Investigations are continuing and police urge anyone who witnessed the assault or has information that could assist police to contact Waverley Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
