ONLY part-time, Comprehensive Islamic Scholarship Degree directed and taught by Shaykh Mohammad Akram Nadwi (Official) Introducing Al Salam Institutes Unique 5 Year ‘Alimmiyah Curriculum From his life dedicated to the study of the sciences of the deen and his refreshing non-partisan critical approach, Shaykh Akram has, alongside his senior students, developed a balanced curriculum of Arabic Language, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul and Qur’anic Studies. Foundation and Intermediate Levels (Years 1-3) will provide the basis for the two years Advanced Level study, which include analysis of the chains of transmission, narrators and derived meanings of the hadiths in Sahih al-Bukhari and Jami’ al-Tirmidhi. Furthermore, Shaykh Akram will lead students on rihlas modelled on traditional travel for knowledge (such as the forthcoming ‘Umrah in April 2015), in order to gain special lessons and high ‘ijazahs from senior shuyukh. The result is not a mere reading of the books of Hadith, but an intimate appreciation of the Way of the Muhaddithin, which, without exaggeration, cannot be found in any other course taught in the English language.
