OPEN QUESTION If Jesus died for our sins, why do ppl go to hell? Confused.. Please clear this up for me..Im really struggling. ANSWER You will receive many rubbish answers, for they will never give concise and clear answers to your troubling question. In order to answer this question properly you have to take a peek at salvation God gave in the beginning and said it could never be changed - Lev 16:34. Here we see a sinner passing all his sins to his sacrificial animal by laying his hands on its head and confessing his sins over it. Then once this was finished, this part satisfactorily completed, the priest ministering in the tabernacle allowed the sinner to kill this animal which had now become sin for him. By the animal being killed and shedding its blood was the sign that something else had now paid for his sins instead of the sinner. The priest then took this blood and wiped it on the four horns of the Altar with his finger, which signified that the sins of this sinner was now wiped off his register in heaven, called the Book of Deeds. Horns means Judgment. So here we see the sequence; and say, if the sinner ignored the first part, and simply killed his animal, shed its blood, and gave its blood to the priest, then that animal would have died a meaningless death, and no forgiveness for the sinner could have been granted. Instead for such a terrible act, such a pigheaded person would have been stoned to death. This happened in the OT, for God cannot be mocked. In the NT era this salvation method continued, for without the passing on of the sins of the world to Jesus in accordance with Scripture, His death on the Cross would have been meaningless. Thus, all who just believe in Jesus death on the Cross are like that sinner I just mentioned here who fobbed of the first part of the atonement by not laying his hands on his animal (Lev 4), and just ran to the Cross and embraced His shed blood, thinking, this is what will save them. But just as sinners were stoned to death in the OT if they just killed their animals and shed its blood without fulfilling the first part as instructed by God, so in the NT, for such stubborn people, they will be severely punished when Jesus returns. Therefore, the blood only Christians cannot receive the forgiveness of sins. This is why they all confess they still have sin. Serving God in sin like this makes them the heretics. So then, what should we be doing in the NT era to receive the full forgiveness of sin and avoid hell? We should be obeying the gospel Jesus announced on the earth in John 3:5, the one called the water and the Spirit, for here He gives the answer to your question. This means, to believe in the water baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. Here we see this passing on of sin again, where just before John baptized Jesus he laid his hands on Jesus head and passed all the sins of the world to His body – Matt 3:13-17; John 1:29 - and then baptized Him. And to receive the full forgiveness of all your life long sins, (passed, present and future sins), you must by faith pass them all to Jesus through the hands of this man sent by God, called John the Baptist. This is when salvation comes to you, for then God blots out all your sins, right here at the Jordan River - 1 Peter 3:21. And now with all the sins of the world upon His shoulders, Jesus walks to the Cross and pays for them all by being crucified, there shedding His blood. By rejecting the first part of the atonement for sin, and just embracing the blood on Cross, you will be destroyed, for such a disobedient act is like witchcraft before God.
