OPINION by Naij reader Fale Joshua: POLITICKING Growing up, I came across a saying: What goes around, comes around. At first, I thoughts it was a law of recarnation. Then, I came across another saying: Change is the only constant thing in life. I came to the conclusion that we, all human beings on Earth, are, in one way or another, politicians practicing politics and politicking. Nigeria is practicing a multi-party system of government, a democracy, giving room for the people to elect the right individual to lead, govern, and represent them in both local and international conferences. Also, it creates room for competition among parties. The question in the minds of many concerned people is, What is the cause for mass party defections? Interestingly, when the former Minister of Aviation was in the APC, he wrote so many article criticizing the PDP. Fortunately enough, when he went to PDP, he said so many negative words against his former party. Why do people defect to another party after paying allegiance to it? The obvious answer is that every politician is looking for the party that will encourage his political ambition. My friends story has prompted me to write this. When he came to Ibadan, he attended ECWA. Eventually, he moved to RCCG, and then THE VINE BRANCH CHURCH. What was he looking for? This brother is so gifted with a pleasant music voice and has a versatile knowledge on various instrument. We all began to have negative impressions about him, that he was using his gifts in search of fame and riches. But the amazing thing was that he never allowed this criticism to wear him down. Various meetings were held between the boarda of elders, women fellowship leaders, men fellowship and youth fellowship leaders, and him trying to know what the problem was and how to keep him but to no avail. HE ALONE KNOWS THE DREAMS AND VISION HE HAS, AND THE BEST ENVIRONMENT HE NEEDS TO FULFILL THEM. Just as Joe Osten used to say: Sometime, the dream we have is bigger than the environment we are living in, and until we move from that environment, we may hardly manifest. Though I dont know how the guy is faring now, I know he is still in Vine Branch Church, and with all his photos on facebook, it show a man living a happy and fulfilling life. I am not saying you should be jumping from one church, or party, to another but what Im trying to say is: For one to succeed, he needs to: * have a vision; * seek for the right environment; * connect with the right people; * associate with the right organization; * get the right messages to inspire you to do more. You dont need to acquire land and a huge amount of money in your bank account, and live a luxurious live for you to be recognized. Being successful is good, but living a fulfilling life is what counts. AGREE?
