OPPORTUNITY! Faculty position in Systematic Theology. Phoenix Seminary, an inter/multi-denominational conservative evangelical seminary, invites applications and nominations for a full-time resident faculty position in Systematic Theology. The successful candidate will begin teaching in August 2015. Should an appropriate candidate not be identified, the search will continue until the position is filled. Academic rank and salary are dependent on educational credentials, professional experience and publication history. A benefits package (including health and life insurance) and professional allowances for conferences, books and student mentoring are provided. A stipend will be provided for moving expenses. Ordained/licensed faculty may designate a portion of their salary as a housing allowance. Minorities are encouraged to apply. Credentials should include a seminary degree (preferably the M.Div.) and the Ph.D. (although ABD’s will be considered). Local church ministry experience is preferred, along with evidence of scholarly potential and/or history of publication. Prior teaching experience and a record of effectiveness in facilitating student learning outcomes are foundational. Ordination or licensure for ministry is a plus. The successful candidate will undergo a background check. The position requires the teaching of a standard Systematic Theology sequence. Additional courses may include: Ethics; Contemporary Moral Issues; Apologetics and Spiritual Formation. Lectures are captured for use in hybrid and online courses. Normal teaching load is 9 hours a semester, with optional overload, January term and summer teaching, which are separately compensated. Faculty responsibilities include teaching, research and publication, participation in academic guilds/societies, student mentoring and engagement in standard academic committees including participation in assessment-related juried reviews. Local church membership and involvement are expected. Candidates should familiarize themselves with and must affirm the faculty “Teaching Position” (ps.edu/about-us/faculty-teaching-position/) and hold to biblical inerrancy and a premillennial position concerning the return of Christ. Instructional faculty also commit themselves to a Faculty Community Covenant on Professional Ethics. Application Procedure: Potential candidates are invited to submit a letter of application, CV, copies of graduate transcripts and contact information for three references to W. Bingham Hunter, Executive Vice President & Provost. Items may be sent as email attachments to: [email protected].
