Fun fact: The Swablu evolution changes typing upon each stages of evolution. Swablu - Normal/ Flying Altaria - Dragon/ Flying Mega Altaria - Dragon/ Fairy Stats: 75/ 110/ 110/ 110/ 105/ 80 Lets take a minute and think about Mega Altarias typing. It is immune to its own type (Dragon) while also being weak to its own type (Fairy). The typing is certainly one-of-a-kind, theoretically making it the best Dragon-type Dragon counter. With twin 110 offenses and 75/ 110/ 105 defenses, Mega Altaria can take various routes to provide team support. The most obvious is the Dragon Dance set, which helps it fix that disappointing 80 Base Speed and make its Pixilated Return hit stronger. Earthquake is enough to round off the coverage. If you think Dragon Dancing is too hip for this fluffy thing, then you can try a Special Attacking set with Pixilated Hyper Voice, Fire Blast and Draco Meteor/ Dragon Pulse. You may also add Agility to double that unchanged Speed. Roost is an option in any and all sets of Mega Altaria, giving it longevity as well as more chances to spam super Fairy STABs. Altaria also learns Heal Bell, Cotton Guard and Tailwind for further team-aid. The dragon fairy might not have been the most OP Mega Evolution in ORAS, but with the right usage, it can be a valuable team player. Also, it makes a great pillow.
