OSCILLATION If you want comfort, keep doing the same things. - TopicsExpress

OSCILLATION If you want comfort, keep doing the same things. Im not going to be able to help you. If you want a vibrant life, comfort cannot be your goal. Oscillation is how how plants and trees grow, mature, and re-new. They are put through storms, striving, pushing, and achieving. Then when it stops raining, they rest and grow. Then when it rains again, they are ready for a bigger storm. Oscillating between comfort and growth is what we are striving for to be fully human and fully divine. To be flexible, to be child-like, to re-new, to evolve, to the next version of us. Step one: Find the next small goal, strive, and achieve it. Step two: Then, we must take that achievement as a cue to restore and enjoy that new experience, and reflect with gratitude. Step three: Rinse, and Repeat. But make sure you repeat. Review/Reflect before Step one again. On the flip side, Dont hibernate. Our brains are wired for change and growth, but prefer status quo. i.e. neurons that fire together, wire together. The difficult thing is that we are literally creatures of habit. Because of homeostasis, we biologically search to keep our nervous system washing in the same neurotransmitters and hormones, so we are fighting our biology. Our brain is wired to go through the same sequences and patterns day in and day out. It becomes much easier to pick one path, comfort, and chilling on the coach, or resting on whats worked before, i.e. comfort, causes lethargy and weight gain. Growth and Pushing/grinding without rest cause burnout. True Freedom is in growing out of constriction. and finding the new constriction and growing out of that. Even on the daily, we get gratification from stretching, and growing, and meditating and journaling, by taking cold-showers. By literally pushing and pulling our mind and bodies in different directions. ...just thoughts. that I am getting better at. and mostly kicking ass. and getting 1% better each day. To summarize: Resist your biology! Grow, Be Courageous, Play, and Review, and Rest with Gratitude!
