OSP cites Klamath Falls woman for wrong-way driving Oregon State Police (OSP) cited a Klamath Falls woman following an investigation into an early Saturday wrong-way driver incident in which she was taken to an area hospital for a medical and mental evaluation. Subsequent to the initial hospital evaluation, CHRISTINE L. KOEHN, age 53, from Klamath Falls, was cited to appear in Jackson County Circuit Court for Reckless Driving and Recklessly Endangering Another Person. On January 25, 2014 at approximately 2:52 a.m., OSP Southern Command Center dispatch was notified of a wrong way vehicle southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near milepost 54 south of Grants Pass. OSP troopers from Grants Pass and Central Point spanned out onto the freeway to try and find the vehicle as additional calls from other motorists came in. A trooper traveling southbound spotted the 2009 Nissan Rogue sport utility vehicle near Rogue River but couldnt keep it in sight. The trooper came across another vehicle that was involved in a collision with the wrong way driver. That vehicles driver had possible minor injury and their vehicle was damaged. OSP troopers continued looking for the vehicle now reported driving at a high rate of speed as officers from Jackson County Sheriffs Office and Medford Police Department established locations in the Central Point area near milepost 35 and milepost 31 to set up spike strips. A trooper also stopped northbound traffic near milepost 31 to prevent drivers from encountering the wrong way vehicle. At approximately 3:08 a.m., an OSP trooper reported the vehicle stopped near milepost 36 where OSP detained KOEHN. She was taken to a Medford-area hospital where she was initially examined by doctors. Troopers found at least one other motorist who took evasive action and was run off the freeway. That person had not reported injury.
