OSU-Cascades hires Montgomery to develop hospitality management degree BEND, Ore. – Oregon State University – Cascades recently hired Todd Montgomery as an instructor and an executive in residence in hospitality management. As an executive in residence, Montgomery will lead the branch campus’s efforts to develop a four-year hospitality management degree long sought by the region’s hospitality industry, and teach in the hospitality, business, and tourism and outdoor leadership programs. Montgomery has more than 15 years’ experience in the hotel industry, focusing primarily in revenue management. He also has experience in pricing in travel sectors that include the airline, cruise, rental car, restaurant and gaming industries. He launched his career with Hyatt Hotels and later joined Starwood Hotels as corporate director of revenue management for the Asia-Pacific region. In 2006 he joined PROS Pricing, a provider of pricing technology where he led the design and implementation of several multi-million dollar revenue management initiatives. Montgomery has a degree in hospitality management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and earned a master’s of business administration from the University of Sydney’s Australia Graduate School of Management. In November 2012, OSU-Cascades announced that it had received gifts totaling $320,000 from the Oregon Restaurant and Lodging Association and hospitality-related businesses across the state to help launch a four-year hospitality degree program. University officials and industry representatives anticipate the program will attract students and faculty, provide interns and graduates for Oregon’s lodging and restaurant industries, and support economic development throughout the state.
