OUCH!!! Thats got to hurt. How lucky is Greg Hancock Club (going by what has been reported) to have only broken one finger and dislocated another, could have been alot worse. But seriously, how can the commentators be so suprised that it happened?? Lowering the back mudguard is not going to stop a back wheel grabbing a glove or any loose article and dragging it in, that is logic. So after the rule change to lower the mudguard to try to prevent this sort of accident, that has cost every speedway rider in every country, of all ages and grades. It hasnt really achieved anything except another unnecessary cost in what can be, at times, an expensive sport. So what will come of this latest incident??? My prediction is - They will look at removing the push bar, as it will now be seen as a dangerous trapping hazard!!! Have they not heard Motorsport is dangerous!!!! So here comes another cost, on top of the new controversial silencers it looks like we all have to get. I hope they think really hard before another knee jerk reaction that could potentially end up costing the sport unecessarily again! OK got that out of my system now. Heres wishing Niels and Greg a speedy recovery. Heres hoping this is Gregs year to be World Champion (if we cant have another Aussie win).
