OUR GOD’S OWN STATE, ABIA IN TURMOIL OVER GOVERNORSHIP Yes! - TopicsExpress

OUR GOD’S OWN STATE, ABIA IN TURMOIL OVER GOVERNORSHIP Yes! But not every electorate feels the razzmatazz of the heated polity where politicking has thickened intensely in view of 2015. Abia State isnt left out. Posters of various men and women vying for one political position or another through a litany of political parties have been seen littering and defacing nooks and crannies (a crass defi...ance mitigating the improvement of aesthetics of our surroundings) all in the name of electioneering. Yes, they say its healthy, of course it is for those in the system but what about us - the electorates? Rumours have been spreading like wildfire about whom the godfather wants to anoint or choose or select as godson. Lots and lots of names have been mentioned whom we may know or might have known in the past and present. But I have a question to ask, of what good will these purported godson(s) is to us if they happen to scale through by hook or crook. Few years ago, Abians bewailed imposition of candidates on a political party by a powerful hegemonic matriarch through indescribable theatrical manouvres behind the scenes that gradually became a norm borne out of systemic malfunctions in the hub of politic managers. Now, same old barge that conveyed the state of affairs that ran Abia aground is about to berth once again. How can a persona non grata with regards to political hierarchy (crème de la crème) in the affairs of Abias PDP caucus, project Mr. Okezie Ikpeazu (former ASEPA chair) as a viable gubernatorial candidate, superimposing his wish on the respected caucus members of the PDP in the state? I wonder how a seemingly dependent calf of a cow challenges the taste of the mothers milk while still a suckling. Ikuku isnt a household name in Abias political hegemony. He was not elected or appointed to any political office of note. What we were all against during the reign of Dr. Orji uzo Kalu, the mother-son hegemony has now come to bear fruit under the watch of our own Governor Ochendo global who seemingly liberated Abia State from the shackles of what is coming back to be. We must say “tufiakwa!” to this heinous devilish machination. What an abysmal situation or is this a case of pot calling kettle black? If it is not so there must be a redraft, replan or reengineering of what almighty God can wish for his own State. The truth is that IKUKU is a child who wants to adorn himself with the apparel of political glory on a platter of platinum he didnt and couldnt work for. The father of this boy with a strange sobriquet, Ikuku, has tried in his own capacity in liberating Abia from politically brigandish group of persons; while the son Ikuku is busy engaging in petty assemblage of sycophants and touts in Umuahia. A simple commonsensical approach in assessing his choice of candidacy in the person of Mr. Okezie Ikpeazu (former ASEPA boss) could go this way: a man from Obingwa - one of the constituent L. G. A. s that contributed part of its land mass to the expansion of Aba and its environs - who chaired ASEPA incapably as its evident in the major cities in Abia State. To take few instances as its pertinent to note: in Abia State there is a proliferation of illegal and legal ASEPA revenue collection agencies. Any observant person who takes a thorough look at the various notices pasted on gates and main entrances of households in our various neighborhoods, youd realize few unpardonable deliberate bloopers with potential fraudulent intents that goes from indescribable official addresses (some with descriptions that suggests they are under a tree; off traceable roads; or manageably, empty stores whose owners were liaised to/coerced into revenue collection); youd hear or must have heard or experienced the brutish manner the thugs or touts they employ unleash harm and breach public peace while on a fraudulent checks in some neighborhoods by extorting exorbitant fines from unsuspecting defaulters whom they accuse fell to sweep drainage systems...while other neighbors elsewhere have their gutters never desilted, ASEPA refuse collectors are kept in close proximity with residences and overwhelmed with refuse that putrid stench often become disgusting; and even when they are evacuated, they are dumped along Port Harcourt - Enugu Expressway, to the extent that debris litter the highway with an accompanying stench to suit. Aba is like a forsaken inhabitation when it rains because same ASEPA is busy doing nothing in the real sense. We all sing and dance about the glory of the Enyimba City, The Japan of Africa, Home of Enyimba Football Club of Aba and other accolades to her credit but Aba is a shadow of itself now because of bad and unsanitary environment. Ikuku and his cohorts are forging nuisance daily and this time he wants to overshadow the father in all things. If Ikuku can dictate what happens and it happens eventually in some mysterious ways, egwu dikwa ooooh ndi Abia ibem! .Seriously! this rumour of Okezie Ikpeazu’s anointing is the most hopeless product that politics can ever bring. Please lets appropriate authorities (SSS, EFCC and other fraud investigation agencies) go back to when he was the Chairman of school governing board of school of health Aba and seek the reasons why the then rector of the school of health was removed and 240 million naira (N240,000,000) TET FUND vanished from their account under the watch of same Dr. Okezie ikpeazu .. The only change we need is the genuine and uncompromising change that comes from within to without. Abians credible candidates are independent. With Okezie as PDP Governorship flagbearer, I see a repeat of Ohakim vs Rochas Okorocha playing out come 2015.. Choose today who you shall vote, as for me and my house, our conscience cant be traded for petty things or turn into victims of circumstance
