The Measure N College and Career Commission reviews plans from Oakland high schools for using Measure N funds, and provides oversight on audits and whether funds are spent as intended. We also have vacancies on several other committees, including the Measures A, B, and J Citizens’ School Facilities Bond Oversight Committees, which ensure that the District is spending bonds for capital projects as promised to the voters. We are recruiting for all spots on the Measure N College and Career Commission. This Commission reviews plans from Oakland high schools for using Measure N funds, and provides oversight on audits and whether funds are spent as intended. There are also vacancies on the Audit Committee. The Audit Committee reviews our independent audit report and is a critical entity for helping ensure our financial house is in order. Finally, there are vacancies on the Measure G Parcel Tax Independent Citizens Oversight Committee. This committee ensures that we are spending the funds from the parcel tax authorized in 2008 as we told the voters we would. So many opportunities, so many ways to serve!
