Oatley Station Upgrade - to start soon. Transport for NSW sought community feedback on the project earlier this year. Based on this feedback and advice from the Office of Environment and Heritage, the project design has been improved to reduce the visual impact of the new footbridge and station forecourts, whilst still providing customers with modern and accessible transport facilities. The materials and finishes have also been amended to better reflect the heritage significance of the station and fit within the Douglas Cross Gardens. Major construction will commence soon to deliver the following facilities: • new lift & stair access to Oatley Parade, Mulga Road and the station platforms • new forecourts on both Oatley Parade and Mulga Road with landscaping to suit the current features • a new pedestrian footbridge • an accessible toilet on the platform • platform canopy extensions to provide weather protection • interchange upgrades including, reconfiguration of kiss and ride; accessible parking; taxi and bus stop locations; additional cycle storage; lighting; CCTV surveillance cameras and new wayfinding signage.
