Obama Is Listening To Liberal Politicians Not The Military This is a long article summarizing reports from the Washington Post and the New York Times, but it is important. The American people clearly want to strike the Islamic State, and after 3.5 years the President has finally reacted with a strategy primarily relying on air power. That is a good start, but it is clearly not sufficient to achieve the Presidents goal of destroying the Islamic State. They can meld into the civilian population and wait out a bombing campaign. They did it before when they were known as Al-Qaeda in Iraq. Defense Secretary Hagel and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs have submitted a plan for expanding the war into Syria. Yesterday Hagel said it had not yet been approved. I hope the President will listen to the military. His no boots on the ground plan is not wise. The Islamic State is a major threat to our security and they must be defeated.
