Obama May Get Hawaii Beach Named For HimHONOLULU (AP) -- Two Honolulu city councilmen are proposing to name a popular beach park after President Barack Obama. Hawaii News Now ( bit.ly/1yEMB4e ) reported Councilmen Stanley Chang and Ernest Martin introduced a resolution on Thursday to change the name of Sandy Beach Park. The beach is a popular bodysurfing spot on Oahus east side. It was one of Obamas favorite spots growing up. He bodysurfed there while on vacation during his 2008 campaign for president.
