Obama on the Navy Yard shooting: He said that when such tragedies strike, "it ought to be a shock to all of us, it ought to obsess us. It ought to lead to some sort of transformation." But, he said, "nothing happens." He went on to say "it should be clear that the change we need will not come from Washington" This was the most honest and insightful thing our President has said during his entire time in office as leader of the free world. He is right as rain. What is needed is a "transformation" of people. Unfortunately, he then went on to call for more gun legislation, which dulls my hope he and the American people yet get it. 15 years ago I was lost and hopeless and perfectly capable of perpetrating violence had God not intervened in my life and had I not turned to Him. People kill people. They will do it with a hammer, a pipe bomb or their bare hands... Because they are lost, angry, scared and, at the core evil. They serve something other than the true and living God. The problem is a spiritual one. America needs revival. It needs to stop worshipping (and everyone worships something) the things of the flesh. It is an attempt to fill an infinitely deep God shaped hole that can only be filled by God... and sometimes that worship leads to madness in its futility. Jesus said to His disciples: "15For the heart of this people has become dull, with their ears they scarcely hear, and they have closed their eyes, otherwise they would see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and understand with their heart and return, And I would heal them.’ " ref.ly/Mt13.15;nasb95 via @Logos The only healing that will occur... serious healing... is when the nation returns to The Lord. Jesus heals broken men. He changes their hearts from one bent in destruction to one inclined toward loving Him and those around them. You can take guns away from people but you cannot remove murder from their hearts... Only God can do this. - Tim
