Obamacare: If you have any of the circumstances below that affect your ability to purchase health insurance coverage, you may qualify for a “hardship” exemption: You were homeless.(Dont check your junk mail, and youre Exempt) You were evicted in the past 6 months or were facing eviction or foreclosure. (Get your parent to kick you out, and youre Exempt) You received a shut-off notice from a utility company. (Dont pay your gas bill and youre exempt) You recently experienced domestic violence. (Get a beating and youre Exempt) You recently experienced the death of a close family member.(Yep! Kill them and Youre Exempt) You experienced a fire, flood, or other natural or human-caused disaster that caused substantial damage to your property. (Wow, burn the shed and youre Exempt) You filed for bankruptcy in the last 6 months. (Bankruptcy filing is $299) You had medical expenses you couldn’t pay in the last 24 months.(Dont pay the bill) You experienced unexpected increases in necessary expenses due to caring for an ill, disabled, or aging family member. (Pay your parents Phone Bill, and youre Exempt) You were determined ineligible for Medicaid because your state didn’t expand eligibility for Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. (Hmmm) So this is how you avoid the Penalty. which is 1% of your income in 2014 and 2.5% in 2016. So if you Earn $50k, thats $41 a month for NO MEDICAL COVERAGE. this is all stated on healthcare.gov if you are curious.
