Obnoxious...I just watched a preview for the tech aspects of Windows 10. They are skipping Windows 9 because its supposed to be so far superior to windows 8, that calling it windows 9 does not do it enough justice. So whats the big hype about? They added 4 snap windows instead of 2. Woohoo...as if it wasnt hard enough to read and manipulate 2 windows to work the way you want, even on a 32 screen. Now you will have the headache of not being able to position things or read things correctly for TWO MORE! Another feature? Virtual desktops! Have 1 desktop for the things you do at home, and 1 for work. And this is new......how? I can do this with a free program on my windows 7 machine, and it looks significantly cleaner, has a nifty animation if I want it to, and my guess is it also consumes less resources than the OS itself will. Oh by the way...I also have 6 desktops. Not just 2. The funniest part about this is, as neat as it sounds, it actually confuses things more than helps. They also boast about a task switching screen. Its the same thing as hitting alt+tab but now, its activation was included in an icon format on your taskbar. If someone knows how to use a keyboard, it will take longer to move the mouse and click than it would to hit alt+tab. And finally, they brought the start button back. Sort of. It still looks like Windows 8s start button, except now when the start menu pops up, theres a gargantuan amount of clutter from what looks like apps buttons, causing your start menu to consume literally half the entire screen. Microsoft....please....back to basics! Or if not, at least make sure the features youre adding make SENSE! I can only begin to imagine the video driver issues with their implementation of a virtual desktop within the OS as well. Gamers and video card manufactures....prepare to rest in pieces.
