Observation of life-*not to be taken serious, as I am not a total man hater, but only when the men in my life do stupid stuff* I have coops at our land and a coop in my yard. 5 laying hens at home in Arlington. Several dozens at our land in Burleson. Now at home of course I have no roo, at the land every breeding group/coop has at least 1 roo(some have more). The hens at home have nice plump bodies, ALL their feathers and lead a peaceful life(meaning no roosters is waking them up at 4am). I get 2-5 eggs a day-year round from them. Now at the land-today for example from the dozens of girls I got 2 eggs today and yesterday just 1. Most of the girls have no feathers on their backs. The poor dears put their head down to feed and a roo jumps on them. They try to take a dust bath and again the roo has to interrupt. So with the males being a pain in the hiney feathers, makes for less productivity. It seems like me- the more my men annoy me the less productive I become. LOL
