Observe Human Trafficking Awareness Day As we welcome 2015 and set resolutions, we also reflect on the past year. 2014 underscored the complexities of human trafficking issues, from the Nigerian girls’ kidnapping to the growing crisis of unaccompanied minors at the border. Such events highlight the need for people of faith to be educated and empowered to take action on human trafficking. The UCC recognizes January 11 as Human Trafficking Awareness Day, and President Obama proclaimed January 2015 as National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.
