Obstacle Fun Day I have decided not to call these ‘Fun Day’s’, Cowboy Challenge Fun Day’s as I do not want anyone not participating because they may feel there is a specific organizational affiliation. These will just be days to come and expose your horse to something new (obstacles) and/or challenge you and your horse to be technically better (if your horse if good with the obstacles can you challenge yourself technically) Fun Days will be held on November 9th and December 20th (2015 dates TBD). How things will be organized this year. There will be 2 time slots 11am-2pm & 2pm-5pm. There will be 9 spots for each time slot and I ask that you bring one horse per time, if you wish to bring 2 horses please book a slot at 11am & one for 2pm. For those signed up for the first time slot you are asked to arrive by 11am to assist with set up and those signed up for the second time slot are asked to stay for clean up to begin at 430pm. Deadline for booking a time slot will be 2 days prior to the event. Cost to participate; a membership to the WEC or paying of the drop in fee. I am going to ask for a $5 contribution (per rider) towards the maintenance of & building of new obstacles. Each time slot will begin with a 30 minute warm up/trust/desensitizing session, than move onto introducing your horse to the obstacles from the ground then riding through the obstacles. If you do not feel comfortable riding your horse through the obstacles that is fine; you are welcome to continue with the ground training, trust and desensitizing exercises. There will be a minimum of 12 obstacles each day. At the end if everyone feels they have accomplished their personnel goals for the day we can do a run through of the course. In the event that there are a number of people who just wish to play at their own speed and do not want the structure please let me know this and it will be taken under consideration.
