Occasionally I read something that strikes to the core of a belief, value or experience I have or am struggling with. This is one of those articles. Every day I am asked to teach students to become creative, outside-the-box critical-thinkers, and every day I am put inside a tighter, more-constraining box of state-led, district-led, and site-led goals, implementations, and mandates that dont give me the time--- or afford me the trust-- to do the job I was hired to do: Teach.
