Occultism What it really is Occultism means knowledge of the occult. It comes form the Latin name ‘Occultus’ which means hidden. Occultism is the knowledge of the supernatural, the hidden things. Aim of the occult is to study truth as the occultists see it. In order to gain this knowledge of this so called truth occultists make use of crafts such as magic, spiritism, parascience and other means to attain it. Their conviction is that the deeper truth which is always hidden may be found through these channels. The access into this truth is not via physical means but via the spirit, or via spirits, which we call in Christianism demons. One way to enter the occult realm is by chanting or meditation. Chanting is the repetition of words or sounds to such a degree that the person will fall into a sort of trance. When the person is in a trancelike status the mind is willing to accept any knowledge given by these spirits. This is due to the fact that whilst being in trance they have no control over their minds nor thoughts anymore. This the reason why it is so dangerous going into a trance! Evil spirits can easily access the mind of that person and take total control over. In past ages occultists were called Alchemists. These Alchemists worked usually for the nobility trying to transubstantiate any metal into gold. Kings and nobility spent lavisciously and were often in great need of money. Alchemists were employed to make gold for them in order to pay off their debts. In Italy for example, alchemists were also employed to fabricate all sorts of venom to get rid of one’s enemies. Many castles still are full of demons due to their activities. Some alchemists where known to invoke the help of foreign spirits to obtain information. They thought that this spirit world would give them the knowledge required. In some cases it did, and they paid dearly for it. Some even sold their souls out to the devil in order to get these formulae. Needless to say that they all were highly deceived by the devil and the consequence of their action is that now they are spending an eternity in Hell. Do you want to spend eternity in hell? For us Christians, occultism is strictly forbidden terrain. God tells us that : “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee”(Deut. 18:10-12). God has His reasons for forbidding us to dab into the occult. One of the reasons it is dangerous for us to make use of people who work closely together with the occult realm is, that they operate within the realm of Satan. We all know that Satan hates Christians. Therefore, it is very dangerous for us to get involved in such matters. A good example is King Saul who lost his life after visiting the witch of Endor. God was very angry with him for disobeying His Commandments which He gave them while He was king, but now that he visited this witch He now was even more angry Saul. He lost his kingdom and his life due to his disobedience to God. Maybe by now you do understand why God has strictly forbidden us to get involved in the occult. The occult is Satan’s territory, and once you step into his territory you are in great danger. Satan will lure you into his territory in order to destroy you, nothing more and nothing less. Let me illustrate what I mean, “Je kin mue jade” oo jade si oro ara e!! meaning let me take you out, you are not consulting on your life!! There are things that man cannot do, and one of them is alter your God given destiny and not pay dearly for it when it matters most, everything thing will pass away, life , wealth and memory. Please realize that whenever you seek these people out, Satan will give something, but he will ALWAYS demand something in return. In many cases, he will get your soul. Occultism is a trap, and it is a sure way to hell. Satan likes to deceive you into thinking that it is all right to dab into his territorium. It is not! It is very very dangerous to do so. Even experimentally can be very dangerous. The only thing you will gain is trouble, big time. You will receive not only trouble but also all kinds of demons, fears, and sometimes even sickness. Other areas which are dangerous for us are Anthroposophy, Esoterism, Gnosticism, Astrology etc. Do you know that the knowledge from these movements is also occult? These movements are based on the wisdom of men and not on the wisdom of God, they also attain their wisdom from so called guiding spirits. We as Christians must know that God is the only way to wisdom for us. “Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God”(1 Chr. 22:12). True and reliable knowledge The occult is no game to play. It is a vast region, wider and more complex than meets the eye. It is not just fortunetelling, Wicca, magick, black magic, talismans and amulets, qabbalah, Freemasonry. It is a more complex and wider territory than you can imagine. Unfortunately nowadays there seems to be a rise of the occult. Occult authors are very popular are being widely. Movies are selling witchcraft as something cool, making this craft very appealing to our youth. Books with all kinds of occult knoweledge, such as Harry Potter are currently being read by our kids. Our society has gone blind to the effects of the occult. The consequences of these sins is that the world is becoming more evil every day. We must be aware that sooner or later we will have to give account of our lives to God on Judgment Day. You will reap what you sowed druing your life time. . Be wise, Jesus!!
