With its already established array of services including maternity, aged care, acute, surgical, community, mental health, dialysis and a 24 hour emergency department the health service is also about to open a brand new Sub Acute Rehab ward. The health service is part of NSW health, therefore offers all benefits available to staff. They are committed to ongoing professional development, working closely with TAFE and Charles Sturt University. The hospital also works very closely with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, treating referral patients from smaller hospitals. The maternity department works with Royal Adelaide hospital, referring all births less than 37 weeks via RFDS. The Role This is an exciting newly created position due to the opening of the new Sub Acute Rehab ward. This in itself will provide you with a challenge and the opportunity to develop and implement new rehab programs. In this role you will be very involved with patient activity and getting them back to home. This will involve conditioning assessment and treatments, chronic disease management, stroke management and post-operative management (to name a few) through to discharge planning and home assessments. You will also be responsible for supervising other members of the Physiotherapy team and wider multi-disciplinary team and will be involved in clinical service improvements. The town boasts a population of 20,000 people and is far from a sleepy little town. Major industries include pastoral, mining and tourism.
