Oct. 17-18, 2013 Rural Action Assembly Ripken Stadium, 873 Long Drive, Aberdeen, MD 21001. The Maryland State Office of Rural Health (SORH), the Rural Maryland Council (RMC) and the Maryland Rural Health Association (MRHA) are collaborating to host a day and half conference which will focus on issues of health care, economic development, and building sustainable communities. The goal is to connect, support and hear rural stakeholders and provide them with structured forum to identify and discuss significant issues confronting rural and non-metropolitan communities. Stakeholders include rural citizens; state and local government leaders; nonprofits that assist rural businesses and communities; and professionals in health care, economic development, agriculture, forestry, workforce development, and community development. Outcomes include networking, dissemination of information and resources, and the opportunity to collaboratively affect change and help guide future legislative agendas that impact rural people and communities.
