October 19,2014 World Mission Sunday 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Cycle A) Lord, help me to acknowledge that” You are God and there is no other” by recognizing and living by Your authority alone. Grant that I may submit my personal freedom to You in an absolute manner as I strive to live by the principle that my ultimate obedience is to You rather than to men. As I sign myself with the sign of the cross, help me to constantly remind myself that my life and everything that I possess belongs You and that I should give back to You what is rightfully Yours through my thoughts, my words and my deeds. May I never be so attracted to the world and all that it has to offer but keep my heart set on Your world that will never pass away and where I will be filled with Your grace forever. Enlighten me to treat the things of this world as a means to greater holiness and as stepping stones to everlasting communion with You. May my heart be fixed on spending eternal glory with You as I strive to prove my faith, to labor in love and show constancy in hope throughout my entire faith journey.
