October 25, 2013 “I will trust and will not be afraid … for the Lord God is my strength ...” Isaiah 12:2 There is another verse, Ephesians 3:20 that I wish to share … “God is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think ...” This morning God stands ready to do just that. Maybe you awake to a new day and the situation you find yourself in appears hopeless. Let me tell you with God … nothing is hopeless. George Miller writes … “Faith does not operate in the realm of the possible. There is no glory for God in that which is humanly possible. Faith begins where mans power ends.” Maybe the Doctors have said … “The cancer is not curable.” The marriage counselor has given your marriage no chance to succeed. The Judge tells your family that you must pay for the crimes you so foolishly committed, or the jury rules the accident was your fault. This morning in your mind you see this day, like the many days of failure you have already faced. Another day of worry, concern, and maybe even hopelessness. Jesus tells otherwise, for in Luke 18:27 He says … “What is impossible with men … is possible with God!” Thats the verse we need to keep with us this morning, and every morning we face the problems at hand. Andrew Murray once said … “Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.” Believe this … WE HAVE A GOD WHO DELIGHTS IN THE IMPOSSIBLE. Let me share this from Charles Spurgeon … “I believe that the happiest of all Christians and the truest of all Christians are those who never dare to doubt God, but take His Word simply as it stands, and believe it, and ask no questions, just feeling assured that if God has said it ... it will be so.” Proverbs 3:5 gives us the direction we need to turn our impossibilities into possibilities. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” This morning we all have to kneel in prayer and turn all of our needs over to God. Charles Kingsley once said … “I do not want merely to possess faith … I want a faith that possesses me!” That’s what each of us need, a blind faith that believes that God can make right the situations each of us are facing. Remember … “He who promised is faithful ...” Hebrews 10:23 Heavenly Father, there are many who need to be filled with faith and hope this morning. For many their situations seems hopeless and without direction. We are reminded of Your Faithfulness throughout Your Word. Fill us with Your grace and gives us the strength to face this new day. Your word tells us that “faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Remove our doubts as we put our day in Your hands, for You are the Anchor who will never fail us. jw
