This is the day on the biblical calendar when the High Priest would offer a blood sacrifice for the sins of all the people of Israel. Did you know that According to the Talmud (Rabbinic commentaries), there were several signs that the sacrifice on Yom Kippur was NOT accepted in AD 30 and for the next forty years through the destruction of the Temple in AD 70. Let us look at this example, when a Yom Kippur sacrifice WAS accepted, a scarlet colored cloth tied to the Temple door would miraculously turn white. This comes from Isaiah 1:18, “...though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” In AD 30 this sign stopped and never occurred again — a clear indication God did not accept the sacrifice. That year when this happened and other supernatural signs stopped appearing~~~Why because Jesus was crucified. He was the ultimate Yom Kippur sacrifice.
