Ode to Jane! (our 2003 Chevy Venture Van) From the first girl scout camping trip less then 48hrs after driving you off the lot, to dozens of 10hr plus road trips from Montreal to Toronto to Ohio to Tennessee, Pensylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island. From off-roading up mountains to trailing Harleys as the wagon through winding Pennsylvania tree covered roads. From potty training to college move in weekends and move out weekends and move in weekends and move out weekends..... from hauling day care children to dogs, cats, lizards, turtles, fish and a litter of ten pups and their Momma. From countless home improvement projects - stone, tile, split rail fencing and firewood to snow storms and beach runs not to mention all the weekend marathons. And then theres the many who crowded in to take shelter from the cold on frosty training weekends. You even accommodated a 71 driver for an 8hr haul. Even your less then glamorous moments (unfortunate encounters with Deer and your uncanny attraction to law enforcement) bring back memories. You lost your new car smell a long time ago and youve survived two teenage drivers (barely!). Your dings and scratches are your battle scars well earned. Youve been an integral part of our lives and you represent more then a decade of memories. Well, it is time to part ways and for you to begin a new journey. Our stories will undoubtedly frequently begin with Remember that time in Jane when we....... Ive been reflecting on all that has transpired in our lives in the past 11 yrs. And Im a little melancholy. Thank you Chevy for being a part of our Family!
