Of Pledges & Apologies “I personally feel preliminary examination isn’t necessary and that graduates can directly appear the main examination but the royal civil service commission (RCSC) doesn’t feel the same,” lyonchhoen said in response to a question on prelims from one of the graduates. This is an excerpt that I have taken from last Saturday’s Kuensel . This is putting me into a deep quagmire and in a state of absolute confusion. Not being able to achieve one’s promises is one thing, but to be bold enough to make such comment as this, is even more senile. Hon. PM is paving way for the future parties to make the cheapest of promises during election, and once elected, apologize and get off scot – free. Now, if at all I am to take this with a positive mindset then I applaud the apologetic gesture manifested by the PM in front of the large gathering. Yet, if so, the Bhutanese people also equally deserve an apology from His Excellency and the party for not being able to fulfill their 100 days pledges as pledged.
