Of course I write articles that reflect my own opinions, but I dont make up my own facts. I dont have to. My job is to tell you about them in time for you to react to them. In the upcoming November 4th mid-term Congressional Elections, Mr. Obama has given you just such an opportunity. In a speech at Chicagos Northwestern University, the President stated that his policies have given us a successful economic recovery -- concluding with the statement, Im not on the ballot this fall. Michelles pretty happy about that. These policies are on the ballot, every single one of them. OK. Fair enough. Take a look at some of the results of his domestic economic policies taken, mostly, from official government records. Then you decide how successful they are. The list is long, so here are just a few. Feel free to add more of your own. #1 Since Obama has been president, seven out of every eight jobs that have been created in the U.S. economy have been part-time jobs. Virtually all of the new jobs created in the state of Tennessee have gone to immigrant workers. #2 The number of full-time workers in the United States is still nearly 6 million below the old record that was set back in 2007. #3 When the Obama era began, the average duration of unemployment in this country was 19.8 weeks. Today, it is 36.6 weeks. #4 During the first four years of Obama, the number of Americans not in the labor force soared by an astounding 8,332,000. That far exceeds any previous four-year total. Of course, these are not counted in determining the monthly percentage of unemployed. #5 According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the middle class is taking home a smaller share of the overall income pie than has ever been recorded before. #6 When Obama entered the White House, the mortgage delinquency rate was 7.85 percent. Today, it is 9.72 percent. #7 In 2008, the U.S. trade deficit with China was 268 billion dollars. Last year, it was 315 billion dollars. #8 Median household income in America has fallen for four consecutive years. #9 The poverty rate has shot up to 16.1 percent. That is actually higher than when LBJs War on Poverty began in 1965. #10 When Barack Obama entered the White House, there were about 32 million Americans on food stamps. Today, there are more than 47 million. #12 When Barack Obama took office, the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline was $1.85. Today, it is $3.53. #13 Electricity bills in the United States have risen faster than the overall rate of inflation for five years in a row, and are expected to skyrocket as the EPA closes more coal-fired power stations. #14 Health insurance costs have risen by 29 percent since Barack Obama became president, and Obamacare is going to make things far worse, as those who are working pay for the health care of those who arent. #15 In 2008, that total amount of student loan debt in this country was 440 billion dollars. At this point, it has shot up to about a trillion dollars. And tuition costs have soared since the Obama Administration took over the management of student loans. #16 During Obamas first term, the number of Americans collecting federal disability insurance rose by more than 18 percent. #17 According to the Survey of Income and Program Participation conducted by the U.S. Census, well over 100 million Americans (about 30%) are enrolled in at least one welfare program run by the federal government. #18 During Obamas first term, the federal government accumulated more new debt than it did under the first 42 U.S presidents combined. In addition, when it comes to protecting the security of our nation, there has been a wide separation between what President Obama promises and what he delivers; between what he says is happening, or will happen, and what actually is happening and does happen; between what he determines to be important and what really is important . We hear of lone-wolf terrorism, of workplace violence, that if you like your plan, you can keep your plan. We are told that Benghazi was a spontaneous demonstration; that al Qaeda is on the run; that the border is as secure as it has ever been; that Syrian President Assad must go; that I didnt draw a red line—the world drew a red line; that the IRS targeting of Tea Party groups involved not a smidgen of corruption; that the Islamic State (ISIS) is not Islamic. We see the government spend billions on websites that do not function, and the VA consign patients to death by waiting list and then cover it up. We are assured that Putin wont invade; that ISIS is the Junior Varsity (JV) team of terrorism; that Bowe Bergdahl served with honor and distinction; that there is a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. But please keep in mind, as effective as President Obama has been in using his phone and his pen to exercise his executive privilege, he has had a lot of Congressional help. . . especially from the Democrat controlled Senate. As President Obama stated, in next months mid-term elections, These policies are on the ballot, every single one of them! On November 4th, or earlier, you will have an opportunity to decide if you wish to support, or oppose, those who promise a continuation of Mr. Obamas policies.
