Of course as a horse lover tears ran down my face as I read this story. The thought of her laying in the truck being injured, not able to get up and with no one there to help her. On her way to a death that is nothing short of torture for a horse. As I read through some of the commends I saw one that mentioned how it was a waste of money to save her when it could have saved 20 horses. What this person doesnt understand is that NOT one horse should be slaughtered .. NO ONE MORE horse should be thrown away from an industry that profits greatly from them regardless of the amount of money that they make on or off the track. They all have value! We owe them more than the back end of a slaughter truck. It is good to see that some connections stepped up and helped but the real hero is Mindy and she should be filled with joy and pride for the life that she has saved which is not her first and I am sure will not be the last.
