Of course, it aint over til its over, but the talking heads on TV are pretty much giving the night to the reds. If thats the way the voters voted, then so be it. What is a sincere blue guy to do? No doubt many of my friends and relatives are going to be elated at the outcomes tonight, if the red trend continues. I cant find much about it to rejoice over, but I refuse to be negative, angry, or pessimistic. Im certainly not going to be a whiner or constant critic, because that is one of the things I detest the most about so many reds who simply hate Obama and every molecule of air he breathes. Im not going to constantly berate every bill the red congress passes, even when the president has no choice but to veto them. Instead, Ill look for whatever good there may be in anything they can manage to pass. When they set policies in motion that work, Ill applaud them. I sincerely hope that the economic recovery weve enjoyed over the past six years will not be immediately torn down by ill-advised new policies designed only to undermine the president and ruin his administration. I might have to speak out when I see that sort of thing going on. On one thing I will surely stand my ground, to borrow a metaphor. If any of these red folks start talking about turning back the clock on liberty, equality, freedom, fairness, inclusiveness, or other progressive social issues, Ill be sounding off and loudly. We must NEVER stand by quietly when our freedoms and rights and humanity are being attacked and eroded. When society chooses to persecute and destroy the lives of people that we love. So there. I am not feeling very happy, but I am willing to learn to be content. And patient. Because I know which direction history is going, and I believe that the ideas championed by us liberals will, for the most part, win out in the end. It has always been that way, though some things take a long time coming. The wheels of justice turn slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine.
