Of course there must be balance in the media, but perhaps that - TopicsExpress

Of course there must be balance in the media, but perhaps that same gov official who made those statements should seek to be more transparent with information - all information and not just favourable information. Since, Jan 2012 after an interview that was in the spirit of accountability about festival 50, that official has boycotted this particular online media. Since then not a single request for information on the simplest of issues, to the most complex has been returned. So tell me what must the media do, not publish a story because they refuse to grant information access? No. Once verified, the story will proceed with or without their input, for the journalists duty is not to appease the politician but to inform the public on all aspects of their countrys development - good, bad or indifferent. That is my Editorial policy. It is interesting that they only see when online media publishes a story that shows them in a not so good light, but for the tons of other stories we publish showcasing good developments and the works of our people, they never see that. So if you want favourable media, then do know media is not a charity or a gov info machine. Grant an interview perhaps? Answer some tough questions. Do not expect lollipop questions. I will be probing and will seek answers for and on behalf of the people. Your anger at the questions asked is for you to deal with frankly. It is never about you, the person, but how you the politician and your policies affect our country and our people. I do not practice my journalism in fear. I will write the articles and highlight the issues both online and via social media as I see them - good, bad or indifferent. That makes me no less a patriot than the other journalists or political henchmen who seek to give a false impression that all is well. J A Robinson.
