Of late RTSA has been airing adverts on safety road usage, the dont drink and drive and seat belt importance. This indeed is very appreciated however, i feel this is incomplete with our poor state of our roads. I know one will talk about RDA been in charge of road development which is very true. Who then is responsible with road maintenance ? One shouldnt even think about the local authority they problems are more than they can handle. This probably explains the poor state of our roads. It takes general election for most roads to be fixed and since this is mostly done in a hurry the work is substandard and in no time you have potholes everyway. RDA and RTSA should think outside the box and mainten these roads. If you take a drive from Monze to Lusaka you will hardly see basic road markings and signs yet these are the things you are asked to state and explain when you are processing for a drivers licence. To a great extent poor state of our roads, signs and marking account for most accidents. With good roads, signs and marking there will be no much need for road blocks which now RTSA and Traffic Police are fighting for. Lets fix our roads for the good of everyone.
