Official Minutes 1977: It was held again at Two Tonys, 97 people attended. Guest speaker was Mrs. Orrin Hunt. A donation was taken for the Neil C. Aslin Fund. Officers elected were Pres. Buddy Mills, V.Pres. Helen Ponder, Secr. Betty Mills and Treas. Rachel Fraley. Official Minutes 1978: It was held this year at the Holiday Inn in Sikestoin, more than 100 people attended. The Class of 1938 had all living members present except one, John Cope. Same Officers as last year. Grady Evans and his daughter presented a musical program of 50s music. Official Minutes 1979: Grandmas Porch in Sikeston, Missouri, 92 people attended. A roast of John Summers was held. Officers elected: Pres. Helen Ponder, V. Pres. Lee Newman, Secr. Ruby Harris and Treas. Rachel Fraley. The reunions from 1977 through 1979 were very short, all held in Sikeston and I noticed that some of my classmates were starting to hold office (ex. Helen Ponder in 1977). Same officers held over to 1978. Helen was President in 1979 and my aunt, Lee Newman was Vice President. A good friend Ruby Harris was Secretary. I notice in 1978 when the 1938 class was honored John Cope was the only one not there but he is still a big supporter of the alumni to this day.
