Often, we are made to feel that our connection with Allaah is not - TopicsExpress

Often, we are made to feel that our connection with Allaah is not firm enough; hence why we feel depressed, we feel sadness and discontentment. We are made to feel that we are the people of weak imaan - which is why our hearts fill with these ill feelings. This is not true. Muhammad salAllaahu alaihi wa sallaam was the man with the highest imaan. None of us can compare to an ounce of faith that his blessed soul carried. Yet there were times where he was sad. He cried. He felt depressed. He tried to jump off a cliff. He hurt. He felt pain. We are human. We can develop illnesses. We can have chemical imbalances developing in our brains. We can inherit diseases... In such cases, should we have a mental illness - our imaan is tested to see if we place our trust in Him. We tie the camel - as the Prophet advised - and then place our trust in Allaah. We must take action to get better. Seek help - then hope that through these avenues, Allaah will heal us. Just like Muhammad SalAllaahu alaihi wa sallaam sought help from Khadijah radiAllaahu anha - where he asked her opinions, her advice, he spoke to her, he asked her to embrace him when he felt fear. Do not let anyone tell you that you lack faith. Do not let anyone tell you that you are weak in imaan. Know that He tests most those whom He loves. You are loved. ♥
