Oftentimes God doesnt change your spouse because He is seeking to change you first. Yes, God knows that your spouse needs to change but God wants to partner with you to bring about lasting change in your spouse through your positive influence not through aggressive pushing. Aggressive pushing builds up resistance in your spouse, erects walls between you & your spouse & causes the heart of your spouse to harden. Therefore don’t slow the change process. Partner with God by first becoming the change you want to see in your marriage. Lasting spousal change always begins with the spouse who is mature enough to see the need for change & is willing to patiently submit to God’s method of bringing about lasting change regardless of what the other spouse does or doesnt do. Let our prayers be “change my heart oh God.”
