Ogun debt profile is N200bn – LP Contrary to the declaration by the Ogun State government that it’s debt profile stands at N89 billion, Labour Party, LP, has said it had increased to N200 billion. LP also alleged that Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, government had been deceiving the people of the state with its urban renewal programme and ongoing road expansion projects. The state government, which had publicly declared that the state debt profile stood at N89 billion, denied that its administration had obtained N100 billion loan. However, the opposition party, Monday, alleged that the road construction projects embarked upon by the Amosun-led administration were mere conduit pipes for siphoning state funds. Leader of LP in the state, Mr. Ladi Adebutu, made the allegation in Iperu, Ikenne Local Government Area, during a sensitisation and unity meeting of former members of Peoples’ Party of Nigeria, PPN; ACN and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the area, who had defected to LP. Adebutu, son of multi-billionai re businessman, Chief Kessington Adebutu, said: “We all know the present state of Ogun State. The bane of this state is good governance.” Reacting to the allegation, the state government has described LP as a band of “confused” people who it said was blind to several developmental projects. The state’s Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, said she would not dignify the opposition party with a reply. Adeosun said: “I was telling you that I have my press briefing on Friday, which will address this matter. I would rather do that than react to their confusion.”
